ive had 3 home births and have always had gas & air i was told i could have pethidine but had to tell midwife b4 i went into labour so she knew to bring it with her but saying that when i was in labour she told me she could call another midwife to bring some if i wanted it

you can have Gas and Air but I believe you cant have pethadine at a home birth! Good luck.
Tens Machine,……………Not much more because a doctor needs to be present to administer drugs…
Entonox (gas) and pethidine should be available – depending on where you live.
A half bottle of Dewars (only joking).
gas and air is the only pain relief i know of in a home birth, you may want to consider a Tenn’s machine too, ask your midwife for more info when you see her next
Good Luck
I would definatenly go to the hospitol, you get good pain killers, and if something is wrong with the baby they have the stuff to work on it.Plus, they clean up the mess…..and it is messy.
