I have had excruciating lower back pain for years now. Can you help me get lower back pain relief?
Posted By Admin on December 19, 2011
The pain is also radiating from the groin and buttocks down the right leg to ankle. Does anyone have a suggestion how I can get lower back pain relief without any surgery? Please note that I have had my fair share of “specialist” consultant visits with no positive results at all.

Hi Suphee,
I know just what you are talking about. Having suffered from severe lower back problems myself, I am very aware how debilitating this condition can be.
What most doctors recommended me when I consulted them about my back pain is to take addictive muscle relaxers and pain killers. And some even advised surgery, which is of course is the very last thing I wanted to hear about.
I never found a satisfactory method or cure to relief my back pain until I came across this revolutionary system which teaches you how to self-asses your specific condition and how to correct it.
One of the neatest aspects of this self assesment is that it takes away the guessing. The very first step involved having my wife take pictures of my posture in several different specified positions and angles. This was used in determining which stretches and exercises I should perform to CORRECT the problem.
I learned that most back pain is caused by muscle imbalances which lead to compensation therefore pain. The exercises and stretches that you will perform, are intended to correct those imbalances which will get rid of your pain.
It worked very well for me, within four weeks I have been transformed into a new person. Now I am back at work and feel fantastic when I get up in the morning. Give it a try yourself, you have got nothing to lose, but your pain.

See a specialist. Or for an alternative, see a chinese physician. Traditional chinese medicine techniques works really well in these type of problem.
Oh yeah…one more thing, body/back massage is an essence in carrying out daily activities. It could prevent and cure any aches.
Ok, if you’re not pregnant it may be a pulled disk or torn muscles in the buttock region or back. Talk to your chiropractor about sciatica.
hey my cousin has the same thing, she has chronic back pains her lower back down to her ass and thighs ankle etc hurts major esp at night bedtime.
her family doctor said its her disc or something and told her to loose weight because she was a lil overweaight and do back stretch exercises ! all the best xx
sounds like you might have a bone or dislocated disc
see a doctor
Try Chiropractic its good! My mum used to happen some pain like you did and Chiropractic heal her back.
Because I can relate to your problem, I will tell you that I’ve tried everything but surgery.
The only thing that really worked is Physical Therapy. You will be amazed what they can do to relieve the pain.
I am currently in PT now for low back pain (but have done PT 3 previous times for other parts of my back) and have avoided surgery everytime with PT.
I had the exact same thing since last Oct, then 6 weeks ago I started PT again. My pain in my leg & foot is non-existant now. I have many stretches & exercises to help that I do at home also.
The problem stems from weak innner abdominal muscles & weak lower back muscles, once you get them strengthened, the pain will go away!
I cannot rave enough about the benefits of PT, they really know what they are doing & you will be shocked at the results..
The first time I went to PT it was the middle of my back with horrible pain radiating down my arm to my hand, so much so that I was walking around holding my arm, like it was in a sling.
The first thing they do is an evaulation, then they start out with easy, non painful exercises. I looked at them & said “are you crazy, me do exercises, I’m in horrible pain”, but now I am a believer, it really does work, it’s not a hoax!!!!
Best of luck, please give PT a try.

OK , Sciatica is a major problem. The way to determine the cause is usually based upon how far the pain radiates down your leg. If it is radiating all the way to the ankle, it is usually a disc or a impingement (pinching) of the nerve where it exits the spine( foramina). You would need an MRI to determine what is the real problem. It also may be aggravated by misalignment of the spine and/or pelvis.
In some rare instances, it is due a condition called “dural torque”. This is where the covering of the spinal chord becomes twisted. This puts extra tension on the nerve roots and can cause the type of pain that you have.
From a chiropractic standpoint:
- If it is Dual Torque- an SOT (Sacral-occipital technique) practitioner can really help this out.
- If it is due to a spinal/pelvic misalignment – a chiropractor would be able to help.
-If it is a disc bulge- There are 2 chiropractic techniques that can help- The DRX-9000 traction machine has shown really good results with disc bulges. Also COX flexion/ distraction has also shown to be helpful with disc bulges.
- If it is any of the other conditions, you may need to consult a neurologist to see what is the best option. I will tell you that the success ratio with “regular” chiropractic when the pain radiates to the foot is not very good ( 20-25%). I personally do not like recommending surgery, but for some people that is the only option.
I hope this information helps. I would definitely try a chiropractor first, but if you still have the same symptoms or worse after 2-3 weeks of treatment, you have something more than a misalignment.
I wish you the best. If you need any further advice, please feel free to contact me at dare2care@dishmail.net.
You should look into MonaVie, it’s %100 fruit juice all natural really good. One of the products in their line is MonaVie Active, it has plant based glucosamine good for joint pain and things like that. I have a friend who had back pains taking probably a dozen pain pills a day and sitting every few minutes and now after a month or so is near %100 not taking any pills. It even helped to the point where he was able to cancel a surgery that was scheduled for some shoulder pains. The Active is the green bottle in their product line if you want to take a look at it here. Good Luck!!!! http://improvedliving.mymonavie.com/
It’s all about stabilising your core muscles. A physio once told me that exercise is like ‘putting money in the bank’. If you keep up your daily exercises and stretches your body will be able to cope when strain is put on your back and you will be able to recover quickly. Get a physio to give you an exercise program and follow it to the word. There is no point just going to a specialist for a one-off, you need to be able to follow their instructions on your own. Good luck.
